Joseph Spirits

Joseph grew up in Wellfleet, Massachusetts where he was surrounded by artists and musicians in a community nurtured by the natural landscape of Cape Cod. He moved to Boston to study film and media production at Emerson College, and after working in the film industry for a short time, he returned home to the Boston area, where he has continued to grow as a musician and artist while becoming a library professional. He has worked at the Watertown Free Public Library for the past ten years, and is currently earning his Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science. His music is a result of years of learning to work with virtual instruments and music production software in order to try and find a satisfying balance between emotional improvisation and meticulous design. He has worked on folk, rock, and electronic music with various collaborators, and continues to be inspired by movies, books, urban exploring, and the natural world.
